ARTIST SERIES CAN ILLUSTRATIONS

The Old Mine crafts some absolutely delicious ciders and experiments with some unique flavor combinations. Owner Mike Yeager wanted to create a series of cans as unique as the ciders they contain for when those experiments are a hit. Working closely with Mike, we concepted on the potential of the series and ideas for the first two flavors to launch the series.

Blueberry Basil

Their Blueberry Basil Cider had already proven to be a hit with his customers and we decided the illustration should take on a fun and whimsical twist. Inspired by an 1866 illustration of flying machines, I illustrated a miner suspended under a blueberry dirigible flapping basil wings.

RaspBeary Tequila

The other flavor is a raspberry cider aged in reposado tequila oak. Originally we thought berries and tequila, it has to be a bear in day of the day makeup, right? Well that proved a little too busy and complicated for the size it would be on the can.
