The FARM at Dancing Star
IDENTITY AND COLLATERAL
A 60-acre, family-owned farm surrounded by National Forests 15-minutes from the Oregon Coast is built on a “you better do it yourself and with what you have on hand” mentality. In creating the identity for the farm, that philosophy became the foundation and informed every aspect of what I created for them.
The original identity for The FARM at Dancing Star was comprised of only three components: business cards, small adhesive labels and a large egg carton adhesive labels — with each component serving a variety of purposes. A business card without a name printed on the back could be used as hang tags. The small adhesive labels served as price labels at the farmers market, but could also be used as envelope and letterhead labels. The egg carton labels were pretty specific, but it was designed to be cut in half to label large items like apple bushels from the orchard.
Over the years the identity evolved to meet the needs of the farm. The identity expanding to include new business opportunities on the property such as a private “bed without the breakfast” cabin rental available by referral only and a meditation retreat center.
